Keystone Lemur

Welcome to the Artists Blog

When did you first become interested in art?

In 1st grade with the classics. Crayola and sharpies.

What style of art do you use most?

Incredibly, when I was still young we didn’t even have digital art as a real option to get into for someone of my age, now it’s common place. Dang I feel old, I just pulled a back in my day and I’m not even 20…

Exodus

Has your style changed from when you first began as an artist?

More of Space art and Web Design.

What medium do you use?

Photoshop and a .5 Mechanical Pencil.

What made you choose that medium?

Photoshop is an amazing medium for about any type of digital art, the rest falls into illustrator or flash for vectors, but Photoshop has always been the dominant.

Epsillion

Do your ideas come from life or imagination?

Some of both to be honest. I can sit there at night and stare up into the stars or at some random object and it just suddenly clicks, the idea comes to me.

How do you choose your images and colours?

If anything on colors they choose me if that makes any sense. One of my friends actually followed a supposed trend he found in me and commented that the color of my art more than not reflects my current mood. Blue being more of a depression, Red being anger, Purple being surreal, and etc.

Who is your favourite artist?

To be honest I have several that are just inspirations if anything. Among them are Taenaron, Joejesus, Gucken, Sumopiggy, and several other space artists on Deviant Art

What is your favourite piece of work by yourself?

It’s a close one between Koinonia and Epsillion

Koinonia

How much time (on average) does it take to complete a work?

About 10 hours. More recently above 20 hours with the last two.

How well do you take criticism?

Surprisingly well as long as it’s constructive and not just some garble and trash thrown together for the sake of getting attention.

What do you do to overcome a ‘block’?

Music. Music does wonders for you.
How do you know something is ‘finished’? Is it easy to walk away?

It’s a feeling you get, a gut instinct that tells you that this is it, the piece is completed.

Decay

Have you had exhibits in galleries?

Twice, once I won 300$ from the exhibit, the other time I was appauled that they didn’t respect Digital Art as real talent in the least and just cheap tricks.

Have you any exhibits in galleries planned for the future?

At the current time no.

What are your plans for the future?

To become an expert in the field of Computer Information Sciences with self employment as a Graphics artist being a side job.

Fallout

What advice would you give new artists?

Don’t expect to be able to have masterpieces within the first few days, even the first few months, anyone with talent started at ground zero once, no one was an overnight Picasso.

Beautiful images! Thank you so much for the interview!
